Bartek M. Wojtkuński
Travel & Landscape Photographer
My work is a long-running attempt to photograph Europe before it becomes entirely familiar to itself. Over the past decade I've worked across eight countries — from the medieval Svan towers of Georgia's Caucasus frontier to the Atlantic edge of Portugal, from the Cantabrian mountains in snow to the Ottoman skyline of Istanbul under storm — looking for places where the weight of centuries is still visible in the stone, in the light, and in the landscape itself.
I work with a Nikon D5500 at ground level and a DJI Mini 3 Pro for aerial perspective. I edit toward atmosphere rather than drama — the goal is always to show what a place actually felt like, not to improve on it. The images that interest me most are the ones where conditions did something unexpected: a storm arriving at the wrong moment, snow in late spring, a light that lasted four minutes and then was gone.
I'm currently working toward my first solo exhibition, Tierras Antiguas, a selection of 23 images made across Europe exploring the relationship between ancient places and the light that reveals them.
